Navigation 101

Program Overview

nav101_logo_graphic

Navigation 101 is a self-management curriculum that equips middle and high school students with the knowledge and skills necessary to ignite their potential: self-assessment, study skills, course selection, college admissions, financial aid, and career planning through online- and classroom-based lessons, portfolios, plans, and career and college planning tools. As students become more self-aware and engaged in identifying the right track for them, they take a more active role in their overall education. This allows the educator’s role to become far more rewarding and focused on students as individuals.

Struggling students learn they have options and become inspired to set and work towards specific goals. Students already on the right track are provided a framework for further self-discovery, goal achievement, and preparation for next steps such as military, work, or college. Individual student successes yield overall school performance improvement.

To get schools up and running quickly, Navigation 101 is bundled with tools and resources in a Navigation 101 Elements package.

Course

The heart of the program, the Navigation 101 course is an outcome-based, scoped and sequenced curriculum that includes:

  • Instruction and assessment
  • Online lessons and classroom activities
  • Complete lesson plans
  • Student portfolio and plan
  • Integrated career center tools
  • Integrated college planning tools

Intuitive Dashboards and Tools

Tools within the Navigation 101 program make it intuitive for students and teachers to use. Each student logs in to a dashboard that tracks his or her progress. Teachers have a separate dashboard that allows them to track and monitor students individually or as part of a class.

Scalable Technology Platform

Navigation 101 is web-based and requires no school installation or maintenance, making it easy and affordable to provide access for all students in a school or district.

Training and Professional Development

Integrating a new curriculum may sound complicated, but we work with each school to simplify it for their specific needs. Teachers and program administrators receive training, opportunities for professional development, support, and account management. Optional consulting services are available if desired.
