We'll show you how Navigation101 can improve the lives of your
students and increase their knowledge of the opportunities
available to them.
Two crucial elements of the Navigation101 model school program are our pre-and post-test assessments of students participating in the program. Students are divided into "test" and "control" groups and both groups are given a pre-test meant to assess their awareness of key concepts in college and career planning. The "test" group then goes on to take the three part Navigation101 curriculum. After completing the curriculum, students in the "test" group take a post-test that measures any difference in awareness or retention.
In the vast majority of cases, students who have participated in the Navigation101 program outperform their peers who did not in awareness and knowledge of key concepts in college and career planning.
Below are just a few examples of our successes.
- Among test student in a Florida high school, a remarkable 99 percent of participants had a solid post-high school plan upon completion of the program, compared to only 18 percent who had such a plan prior to using the program.
- Eighty-one percent of students who used the program had a plan for paying for college, compared to just 55 percent prior to participating in the Navigation101 program.
- Prior to using the program, only a scant four percent of students knew about or began the FAFSA, but that number skyrocketed to 90 percent after the program.
- At yet another Florida high school, awareness of key concepts in areas such as college, career planning, and financial aid went up an average of 36 percent.
Time and again, results like these have been repeated across the country. Beyond statistics and graphs, results can be measured in the impact the Navigation101 program has had on students' lives. Students once written off find themselves seeing college or vocational training as something within their reach. Students who faced the future with trepidation and anxiety are eased into their transition equipped with the knowledge to make a plan and take the future in their own hands.
But don't just take our word for it
